View Date:2025-01-10 05:28:23
Group B action in the 2024 Copa America continues tonight with a pair of matches. Ecuador takes on Jamaica in Las Vegas, the first game of the day before group favorites Venezuela and Mexico face off from SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California.
Mexico earned a 1-0 win over Jamaica in the first game of group play but at a cost. Captain Edson Álvarez left the game in the first half with a hamstring injury and is out indefinitely. He's the most experienced player on the team with 78 matches under his belt prior to the Copa America. El Tri managed to get the win thanks to a goal by Gerardo Arteaga in the second half. They'll be facing a tougher challenge against Venezuela.
Venezuela enters this one fresh off a 2-1 comeback win over Ecuador in their Group B opener. Ecuador scored in the 40th minute but second half goals from Jhonder Cádiz's and Eduard Bello secured the team's first win since last October.

Venezuela hasn't beaten Mexico in international play since 1982. Mexico hasn't won consecutive matches since last July. One of those streaks could end tonight at SoFi Stadium.
